For its part, a group of Russian experts from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Interstate Aviation Committee, the JSC (United Aircraft Corporation) and the SCA (Sukhoi Civil Aircraft) have arrived in Jakarta, according to the Russian embassy in Jakarta in its press statement released on Friday.
The Russian embassy is organizing a crisis center which closely interacts with local authorities to monitor situation in the field round the clock, the embassy said.
The assistance is also provided to the representatives of the SCA and Russian agencies who are now in Indonesia.
The embassy is ready to provide the relatives of Russian citizens aboard the plane with consular support, if needed.
The Russian aircraft was reported to have lost contact with the Air Traffic Controller at the Halim Perdanakusuma military airport in Jakarta during a demonstration flight on Wednesday. The plane has gone missing since then.
The body of the ill-fated aircraft was spotted in arduous territory on the slope of Mt. Salak at the height of 1500 meters on Thursday.
The Indonesian National Search and Rescue team is now working on the crash site. There has not yet been information on any of the passengers who survived the accident.
The plane reportedly carried 45 people, including eight crew members of the Russian plane and citizens of Indonesia, Italy, France and the United States.
In the meantime, the search for the passengers of the ill-fated plane was delayed due to the bad weather and darkness of the night.
Earlier, Chief of the National Search and Rescue Agency Daryatmo said in a press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma military airport in Jakarta that the terrain on the crash site is very rough and this is one of the factors hampering the evacuation process besides the bad weather.
"The slope where the plane was spotted to have crashed is nearly 85 degrees. We are relying on land evacuation team now," Daryatmo said. (*)
