"KEN supports single time zone in Indonesia."
Tampaksiring, Bali (ANTARA News) - The National Economic Committee (KEN) has recommended the government to adopt a single time zone policy in order to improve the country`s economic competitiveness and bureaucratic efficiency.

Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa on Monday said the government received the recommendation during a meeting at the Tampaksiring Palace.

"KEN supports single time zone in Indonesia," he added.

Indonesia lies in three time zones: GMT+7, GMT+8, and GMT+9. Under the GMT+8 Program, Indonesia will consider all of its areas to be in the GMT+8 time zone.

The meeting was attended by several cabinet ministers and KEN members, including Chaerul Tanjung and Sandiaga Uno.

KEN also advised the government to increase investments and exports, implement a 12-year compulsory education policy, and improve tax management and employment policies.
