The migrant workers were arrested in the oil-palm plantations area in Kinabalu, Sabah as they didn`t have passports, Nurhadi, manpower affairs staff of the Indonesian consulate in Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia said here on Friday.
The workers were detained for three months in the Menggatal temporary detain centre prior to the deportation, he said, explaining that they were returned by means of Francis Ekspres ship.
Nurhadi said that 61 out of th 81 people were male adults, 15 female adults, one boy and two daughters, and most of them worked at the oil-palm plantations.
They arrived at the Tunon Taka, sea-port, Nunukan, East Kalimantan on Friday at 8.38 pm central Indonesia time, and received by a staff of the Nunukan immigration office, Karel DJ Boseke. (*)
