Ambon (ANTARA News) - Four of six members of a family caught in a landslide were found dead at Belakang Soya area of Maluku Province Tuesday, Ambon Mayor Richard Louhenapessy said.

"Rescue workers helped two of the victims of the Manusiwa family out of the debris," Richard said, adding that another house with some eight people inside was also buried in the landslide and rescue workers have not found the inhabitants of the home .

The two survivors and the bodies of the four victims have been sent to Sumber Hidup hospital and the Dr Haulussy general hospital in Kudamati.

Rescue workers, assisted by military and Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) personnel, were clearing the debris in the morning while the search continued for other survivors. The scene at Belakang Soya resembled that of Batu Gantung on May 15, which killed eight people, the mayor said.
