Bali Bangun International Festival would also present many classical Balinese paintings.
Denpasar (ANTARA News) - Six US artistes from Berkley, California, who are part of the Sekar Jaya ensemble are all set to enliven the Bali Bangun International Festival at the Gunarsa Museum in Semara Pura at Klungkung, Bali.

The six foreign artistes will be collaborating with the Cudamani Pengosekan Art Gallery, Ubud, said the founder of the Bali Bangun International Festival Dr I Nyoman Gunarsa, here on Tuesday.

Gunarsa who is also the founder and manager of Bali`s Classic Art Museum said that dozens of Cudamani Pengosekan percussion artistes will accompany the foreign artistes during their demonstration of various Balinese Arts along with choreographer Emiko Saraswati Susilo.

The event that will be staged at Puri Agung Surya Chandra Murti of the Classical Art Museum, will showcase performances in the Rejang Renteng, Trunajaya, Jauk Keras, and Legong Somnya dance styles.

Bali Bangun International Festival would also present many classical Balinese paintings that have become part of different museum collections across seven countries including Australia, the United States, Italy, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Indonesia.

This event is scheduled until August 28, 2012 and is aimed to promote the dignity and aesthetics of Balinese artistes locally, nationally and internationally.

The event is also aimed to make the classical Balinese painting style a national icon by preserving the cultural arts of Balinese culture within a global era, Gunarsa said.

The involvement of the six foreign ensemble artistes in the festival received an enthusiastic response from the community and from the other participating representatives of the seven countries.

Gamelan Sekar Jaya is a Balinese gamelan ensemble located in the San Francisco Bay Area. ***3***
