Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono gathered leaders of state institutions at the State Palace here on Wednesday to collect inputs with regard to state address he would deliver on Thursday.

"I wish to know fundamental issues that I, as a head of state, have to raise in the speech in the morning and in the evening when I present the draft budget as a head of government," he said.

As always ahead of the independence anniversary on August 17 the Indonesian President is required to give a state address and present the draft budget for the next year before the parliament.

"We met today under a theme of solidarity and cooperation for increasing development efforts in the country to conduct reflection with regard to our independence anniversary. I would later present to you the main issues of the speech I would present tomorrow," he said.

He said "we as state administrators must have spirits and must take whatever efforts to advance our country. Although we have different tasks and duties we are expected to be able to collaborate to assure the best achievement."

He said good communication among leaders of state institutions would help boost the effectiveness of the state administration.

Among the high ranking officials attending the meeting were the chairman of the People`s Consultative Assembly (MPR), Taufik Kiemas, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Marzuki Alie, the chairman of the Regional Representative Council, Irman Gusman, the chief of the State Audit Board, Hadi Purnomo, the chief of the Supreme Court, Hatta Ali, the chief of the Constitutional Court, Mahfud MD and the chief of the Judicial Commission, Eman Suparman.

In the meeting President Yudhoyono was flanked by Vice President Boediono, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Defense Forces Commander Admiral Agus Suhartono and others.
