Kudus (ANTARA News) - A toddler was killed, after a sedan rammed into a truck on the north ring road in the Kudus district of the Central Java province on Friday, police confirmed.

The truck driver has been identified as 50-year-old Kusnadi, who told reporters, that the accident had taken place in the Panjang village of the Bae sub-district.

He also pointed out that the "Civic" sedan was being driven by 32-year-old Agus Prasetyo at a high speed when it collided with the truck. Prasetyo`s 18-month old daughter Aulia Maulida was also in the car.

"I honked repeatedly, but he showed no signs of slowing down," Kusnadi said, adding that the sedan crashed to a stop only after hitting the truck.

Traffic police have added that Prasetyo was holding his daughter while driving the car and when the accident took place.

While the collision left the toddler dead, her father has only sustained minor injuries.

Earlier this week, one person was killed after a Colt mini truck rammed into a motorbike on a bridge in the Pulau Makmur village of Mukomuko district in the Bengkulu province on Monday, the police said.

The deceased victim has been identified as 17-year-old Tri Putra, First Inspector AA Gede Wibowo Sitepu, the chief of the Ipuh sub-district police office said.

Putra, who was driving the motorbike, was a resident of the Lubuk Sanai village, which is situated at a distance of about 100 kilometers from the Pulau Makmur village.
