US joblessness and manufacturing data were up to market expectation that shored up both the US and Asian markets, analyst said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian shares rose in Friday`s opening trade to follow the trend in most Asian regional markets.

PT Trust Securities analyst Reza Priyambada said here Friday with minimum domestic sentiments, the BEI index followed the external trend.

The composite share price index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) gained 8.77 points or 0.21 percent to 4,226.29 points with the index of 45 most liquid stocks increasing 0.31 percent to 727.69 points.

Reza said US joblessness and manufacturing data were up to market expectation that shored up both the US and Asian markets.

Panin Sekuritas analyst Purwoko Sartono said the market still appreciated the monetary policy of Bank of Japan buying more bonds from the market to follow the steps taken by the Fed and ECB.

He predicted the BEI index would hover around 4,190-4,232 points to day to follow the volatile sentiments.

Regional markets Hang Seng gained 0.64 percent to 20,723.10, Nikkei-225 up 0.32 percent to 9,116.18, and Straits Times strengthening with index up 0.19 percent to 3,068.25 points.(*)
