Boediono made the statement during the opening ceremony of the 20th Indonesia International Motor Show at JIExpo-Kemayoran.
A total of 310 participants, representing 35 brands of motor vehicles, are attending the annual show, which is being held from September 20-30.
Boediono said many industrialists, including carmakers, were of the opinion that Indonesia`s domestic market outlook was promising and "the current environment should be maintained".
"The extraordinary domestic market potential, if realised, could improve the prosperity of Indonesian people in the long run," he added.
Boediono noted that the business community would benefit much from political stability in the country, which in turn would boost the domestic market potential.
"We have to maintain political stability in order to attract as many investors as possible to do their business in the country," he explained.(*)
