"If the weather is favorable on Friday morning, the SAR team will resume the evacuation."
Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA News) - Poor weather conditions have forced a search and rescue (SAR) team to postpone the evacuation of the victims of a plane crash in Indonesia`s eastern-most province of Papua.

"The weather around the area where the ill-fated aircraft was found was so bad that a SAR team could not be sent to the scene," said Robin, the manager of the Tariku Aviation Foundation which operated the plane, on Thursday.

"If the weather is favorable on Friday morning, the SAR team will resume the evacuation," he added.

The plane, which was carrying a pilot and a passenger, crashed while on its way from Koropun to Dekai, Papua province, on Wednesday. The wreckage of the PAC-750 aircraft was spotted on Thursday morning.

The fate of the pilot and the passenger is not yet known.
