Mecca, Saudi Arabia (ANTARA News) - Thirteen pilgrims sustained minor burns and 179 were rescued in a fire in a nine- storey building on Ibrahim Al Khalil road in Mecca, according to the Saudi News Agency on Sunday.

The fire started at 19:09 on Sunday. Five firefighting teams and three rescue teams joined in the fight against the fire and put out the fire hours later, the spokesperson of the Civil Defense for Hajj Season Lt-Col Abdullah Al Arabi Al Harithi told the agency.

He said that the all Indian and Bangladeshi pilgrims in the building were evacuated, adding the cause for the fire is still under investigation.
