"The cases are worth billions of rupiahs."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission is examining 10 reports on suspicious transactions (LHA) filed by the Financial Transaction Analysis and Report Centre (PPATK), according to KPK spokesman Johan Budi.

"The KPK has received four LHAs involving seven people from a company which is involved in a number of cases that are under the investigation of the KPK," said Budi here on Wednesday.

The anti-corruption commission is investigating an alleged corruption case involving the national sports training and education centre project in Hambalang hill in Bogor in West Java.

The KPK has named Deddy Kusdinar, former chief of the Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Sports and Youths Affairs, as a suspect in the case.

Besides, the KPK is also investigating alleged corruption in a regional infrastructure adjustment (PDID) fund allocation plan involving Wa Ode Nurhayati in 2011, a development budget scheme in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Ministry of National Education with Angelina Sondakh as a defendant and a deal for procurement of goods and services in the Religious Affairs Ministry with Zainuddin Djabar, a member of the House of Representatives (DPR)`s Commission VIII religious affairs, named as a suspect.

"The cases are worth billions of rupiahs. One of the cases is related to the Hambalang project," Budi said.

He said that the KPK would look into the reports to see whether they could help the anti-graft commission in its examination and investigation of the cases.

"It is possible for the KPK to summon them if it needs their explanations," Budi said, referring to the four people mentioned earlier.

Regarding the Hambalang case, the KPK is investigating the flow of money to the fund organizers to see whether there were any bribes paid in the process.

The KPK has estimated that state losses amounted to Rp10 billion in the Hambalang project in 2010.

The KPK has so far only Kusdinar as a suspect in the Hamabalang project, which began in 2003, when it was still under the Directorate General of Sports Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

In the 2004 -2009 period, the project was taken over by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, which handled land clearance, land certificate, geological study and the drawing up of its master plan.

In 2009, Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs proposed a budget of Rp1.25 trillion for the construction of the project and the budget allocation was raised to Rp1.175 trillion through the Ministry of Finance.

Of the proposed budget of Rp1.175 trillion, an allocation of Rp275 billion got the required approval. Rp125 billion were to be allocated through the 2012 state budget and the remaining amount of Rp150 billion was to be allocated through the revised 2012 state budget.

The Hambalang project is expected to be built in three stages. The total funds will amount to Rp2.5 trillion, if the funds for the procurement of sports facilities are also included.
