Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Hundred of police and army officers led by anti-terrorist detachment better known as Densus 88 were engaged in shoot out against suspected terrorists, and killed one of them in the Central Sulawesi district of Poso early this morning .

Poso police chief Sr. Comr Eko Susanto refused to give details of the incident in the village of Kalora, 50 kilometer north of Poso.

A police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said six suspected terrorist were wounded and arrested in the 30 minute shootout.

One of the six identified as J died later on the way to a hospital and the other five have been sent to Palu for treatment and investigation, the source said.

Police confiscated a pistol and seven bombs, which were exploded by police in the locations.

Poso has been one of the hot spots in the country. Last month two police officers sent to track down suspected terrorists who murdered civilians earlier in the city were found dead apparently ambushed by the terrorists. (Uu.AS/H-ASG/F001)
