Bandarlampung, Lampung (ANTARA News) - An angry mob torched 10 houses at Kusuma Dadi village in Central Lampung district, Lampung province, on Thursday, a local resident said.

"The attack was incited by a rumor that a resident of Buyut village was set to fire for allegedly stealing a cow at Kusuma Dadi village," Bambang Wijanarko, a resident of neighboring village, said.

The village is being tightly guarded by hundreds of police and military personnel, he said.

Hundreds of Kusuma Dadi residents had vacated their houses since two days ago, he said adding the residents of Buyut village attacked Kusuma Dadi village at around 01.00 p.m. on Thursday.

"No fatalities were reported in the incident," he said. (S012/YH)
