Bogor, W Java (ANTARA News) - Heavy downpours in Bogor and Puncak region increased the water debit of Ciliwung River and caused the water level of Katulampa sluice gate to exceed the normal level.

"The water level has risen at around 2.30 p.m. (local time) from zero cm to 80 cm or level four alert with a debit of 90,000 liter water per second," Head of Katulampa sluice gate, Andi Sudirman said here Sunday.

Sudirman said, the downpours in Puncak has caused the Ciliwung river`s water debit to rise. "There might be an increase (on water debit) as up till now Puncak region is still raining," he said.

Sudirman had warned the Depok and Manggarai sluice gate officials about the increased water level in Katulampa.

Bogor region was hit by torrential rains since 12.45 p.m of local time. At 02.55 p.m., the region was still raining in medium intensity.

Previously on Saturday (Nov.17), Bogor and Puncak were also raining heavily that the Katulampa sluice gate`s water level rise from zero cm to 20 cm.
