Phnom Penh (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono hails regeneration of leadership in China in which Xi Jinping has officially been elected as the new leader of that country for the next decade, presidential aide said.

Teuku Faizasyah, the presidential aide for international relations, said here on Sunday night "President Yudhoyono hopes the good relations that have been made in the past ten years with China could be stepped up further under China`s new leadership.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono who is now Cambodia for an ASEAN Summit earlier met with Chinese prime minister Wen Jiabao.

Faizasyah said in the meeting Chinese prime minister Wen Jiabao praised President Yudhoyono as a statesman and Indonesia`s role in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

"China-Indonesia relations have been very good and certainly would be further improved in the future," he said.

Xi Jinping will replace president Hu Jintao whose term is marked by extraordinary economic growth.

The Chinese Communist Party has decided a transfer of power from one generation to the next one. Xi who will be accompanied by Li Keqiang would replace prime minister Wen Jiabao.

As reported by Xinhua the new Chinese leaders would have huge responsibility with their mission of uniting to lead the party and the people to make the Chinese people stronger and more influential.

"The wish of the people for a better life is what we are going to fight," Xi Jinping said.
