Indonesia sends a total of 140 police personnel grouped in the FPU Indonesia 5 Garuda Bhayangkara 2012 to Darfur for the UN mission this year to replace those finishing their duty there.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia will send more police officers to Darfur, Sudan, for a UN peace mission,Nnational Police Chief General Timur Pradopo said.
"We will send 150 additional personnel for the United Nations African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) from 2008 to 2013," he said after receiving 130 police personnel that have completed their duty in Darfur here on Monday.
He said the police would send 150 personnel grouped in the Formed Police Unit in exchange for them.
"This is a trust that has been given to us and so we have to prepare the personnel well for it," he said.

The police forces are sent to help prevent the spread of armed conflicts in the region and create peace in South Sudan after referendum.
South Sudan officially became an independent country on June 9, 2011 following the proclamation of independence by the house speaker at a ceremony in Juba.(*)
