Jakarta, Nov. 13, 2012 (ANTARA) - The forestry sector contribution can directly improve the welfare of rural people, so they will have high purchasing power, increasing consumption of rural people who contributed in the economic growth approximately 4% of the National development around 6.5%.
Several policies from The Ministry of Forestry on job creation are providing legal access to people in rural areas by seeking Plantation Forests for Community, Community Forest and Rural Forest so that rural communities have sustainability employment throughout the year which do not need the expertise on business activity of Seeds Garden for Community and the activities of Land and Forest Rehabilitation throughout the year with the average state budget of Rp2.6 trillion.
Likewise for the business of Industrial Plantation Forest for 232 units covering 9,778,734 ha, where the average annual area planted of 500,000-600,000 ha, with year-round employment in rural area such as the seedbed, land preparation, planting, maintenance, harvesting, processing and marketing. In addition, the Ministry of Forestry has provided funds of Rp. 2.5 trillion for the activities of Plantation Forest for Community, Community Forest, Rural Forest, Community Forest , and Industrial Plantation Forest with revolving loan fund through the Public Service Agency (BLU). This realization of funds has increased the development of Plantation Forest for Community, in 2011 it reached Rp30,007,545,490 and in 2010 amounted for Rp5,119,140,000 (cumulative of Rp.35,126,685,490)
Legal access for natural tourism permission has also given by the Ministry of Forestry to communities through P.48/Menhut-II/2010 where people not only sell souvenirs or transportation, but also the manager of natural tourism business.
In addition, the Ministry of Forestry has also given communities the convenience of timber legislation by giving the authority of Origin Certificate to the Head of Village. For sengon timber, it is only with the Memorandum of Selling and the Certificate of Origin is unnecessary. The Ministry of Forestry has put investment authority for rattan, sago, gum, seeds and honey as Non-Timber Forest Products to the Regent to be closer with communities.
