Bandarlampung, Lampung (ANTARA News) - The local public prosecutor`s office will soon summon Bandarlampung Mayor Herman HN who was formerly head of the Lampung provincial revenue office to testify on an alleged Rp2 billion graft case at the office.

"A team of investigators is setting up a schedule to summon Herman HN as a witness," Sarjono Turin, an assistant for intelligence to chief of the Lampung public prosecutor`s office, said here on Friday.

The graft case surrounds illegal fees for officials of the office to collect revenues.

There is no legal basis for them to receive the fees, he said.

He also said the local public prosecutor`s office has the right to arrest a regional head who has been named a suspect without prior approval or recommendation from the President.

Under a decree of the Constitutional Court, regional heads can be detained without approval from the President if they are involved in corruption, narcotic abuse and terrorism, he said.
