Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono installed Vice Admiral Marsetyo as the new Navy commander and Vice Marshal Ida Bagus Putu Dunia as the new Air Force chief here on Monday.

The two military officers were installed based on Presidential Decision No. 78/TNI/2012 which was signed on December 14, 2012.

The induction ceremony was held the State Palace and was attended by House Speaker Marzuki Alie, Indonesian Defense Forces Commander Admiral Agus Suhartono, National Police Chief General Timur Pradopo, Army Chief Gen Pramono Edhie Wibowo, outgoing chief of the Air Force Imam Syufaat, outgoing chief of the Navy Admiral Soeparno, Attorney General Basrief Arief and First Lady Mme Ani Yudhoyono.

Outgoing chief of the Air Force Imam Syufaat and outgoing chief of the Navy Admiral Soeparno will retire.

A number of ministers who also attended the function included Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Chief Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa, Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo and a number of other senior state officials.

Previously, Vice Marshal Ida Bagus Putu Dunia was commander of TNI Staff and Command School while Vice Marshal Marsetyo was deputy chief of the Air Force.(*)
