The plenary meeting will be attended by the seven KPU commissioners, political party representatives, the electoral supervisory board (Bawaslu), electoral observers and the non-governmental organizations, the KPU commissioner, Ferry Kurnia Rizkiyansyah said here on Wednesday.
According to him, the announcement of the 2014 electoral participants will not be postponed and stages of the electoral implementation will be inline with the KPU regulation number 18/2012.
The KPU once put off the administrative verification stage of the would be general election participants due to various reasons.
The general elections participants relating to the House of Representatives (DPR), the provincial representative councils (DPD) and the regional legislative councils (DPRD) will be announced on January 9 through 11, Ferry noted.
Previously, political observer from University of Indonesia, Ari Junaedi, stated that government should be alert to political preparation for legislative and presidential election in 2014 so as not to disturb the performance of ministries and governmental institutions during 2013.
"In the political year of 2013, several ministers and institution leaders involved in political parties will be busy preparing for the 2014 election. Therefore, the government should take measures to prevent the decline in performance of ministries and national institutions," Junaedi said in an interview with ANTARA here on Wednesday.
He also said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono should act decisively against ministries and institutions that perform poorly due to preparation of legislative and presidential election.
Sharing opinion, he stated the prevention can be done by following up results of evaluation released by the Presidential Working Unit for Supervision and Development Management (UKP4) which shows the performance index of ministries and institutions.
"Earlier, UKP4 led by Kuntoro Mangkusubroto has reported its evaluation of the United Indonesia Cabinet part II, and the result shows that some ministries have performed poorly in 2012," he explained.
According to Junaedi, the UKP4 evaluation results have not been followed up seriously although the Unit was formed directly by the President to assess the performance of ministries and institutions in the cabinet.
"Therefore, the president should quickly follow up the results to improve the performance of ministries and institutions. Besides, President should also rearrange his cabinet to fill the vacant position and to replace ministers who performed poorly," he stated.
Junaedi further stated UKP4 should also monitor the activities of ministries and institutions, particularly during the preparation of 2014 election.
"So, the ministerial activities will not be used for political purposes of some ministers or institution leaders to achieve the target of their political parties," he added.(*)
