"The stadium is the pride of Bali people. Their dream (stadium expansion) should be welcomed by the government," he said here on Sunday while observing the Dipta Stadium.
Roy Suryo, who was accompanied by Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika, hoped the stadium expansion would be independently managed.
"All parties should fight for the expansion of the Dipta Stadium so that it would become one of the big stadiums in Indonesia," the Democratic Party Politician said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Democratic Party for Gianyar District I Ketut Jata said he would not refute it if it was said that Roy Suryo`s visit was part of a campaign with regard to a Bali regional head election (Pilkada) on May 15.
Incumbent Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika and I Ketut Sudikerta pair up for the Bali gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial elections.
Called as the "Pasti-Kerta" pair-up, Made Mangku Pastika and I Ketut Sudikerta are supported by the Democratic Party, the Golkar Party and seven parties in the coalition.
"Currently is politic season, so it is fine if the activity was related to regional election," I Ketut Jata said.
However, Minister Roy Suryo and Governor Pastika did not ask the people to vote for the Pasti-Kerta pair on the occasion because it was not yet time campaign.
