The merger is aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, transparency and professionalism in the management as the two companies operate in almost the same business area.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The state enterprise ministry is considering merger between two state companies operating in telecommunication industry.
Merger between PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Inti) and PT LEN Industri is expected to improve their performance and efficiency, Inti`s President Tikno Sutisna said on Tuesday.
"We hope no side especially among the workers and managements of the two companies would feel being on losing side or discouraged in the process of merger," Tikno said.
Such feeling could have a bad effect on the performance of the companies, he added.
He said the merger is aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, transparency and professionalism in the management as the two companies operate in almost the same business area.
He said Inti is still in the process of looking for strategic investors.
"We have carried out a study of the merger possibility and the result has been submitted to the office of the state enterprises minister," he added.
He said Inti sets income target at Rp2.3 trillion this year, up 91.6 percent from Rp1.2 trillion in 2012 with net profit projected at Rp49 million up 109 percent from Rp16.68 billion last year.(*)
