Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Supreme Audit Board (BPK) and the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) have agreed to enhance cooperation in audit service.

The Indonesian Supreme Audit Board in a press statement on its official website on Friday said that the cooperation which has been established since 2006 concerned the use of electronic working paper, and the use of public accounting firms in the examination for and on behalf of the Indonesian Audit Board.

BPK Chairman Hadi Purnomo and his staff Sapto Amal Damandiri held a meeting with ANAO Deputy Auditor-General Steve Chapman when visiting Sydney, Australia, on April 10-12, 2013.

The delegation of BPK was in Australia was to attend the Australasian Council of Public Accounts Committees (ACPAC) and the Australian Council of Auditor General (ACAG) Conference on April 10-12, 2013.

They also held a meeting with Deputy Auditor-General of New Zealand, Phillippa Smith and the New South Wales Auditor-General on April, 10, 2013 at the New South Wales Supreme Audit Office, Sydney, Australia.

Purnomo and Smith in the meeting explored a possibility of establishing auditory capacity cooperation in the form of the secondment program for senior auditors.

Meanwhile the meeting with Auditor-General of New South Wales Peter Achterstraat explored a possibility of cooperation in a public understandable report writing and secondment of senior auditors. Both supervisory boards agreed to cooperate with the BPK through the signing of cooperation agreement documents.
