Semarang (ANTARA News) - A female baby orangutan was born and named `Belia` in the Wonosari Mangkang Wildlife Park, Semarang, Central Java, on Saturday, a park official said.

"The baby orangutan was named after Belia, a combination of her parents` names `Billi` and `Bella`," the park chief Kusyanto said here on Sunday.

He said that the birth of Belia increased the number of orangutans in the park to four. Another young orangutan in the park, name Kemo, is now growing into adulthood.

"Bella has also once in the past gave birth to a baby orangutan but the newly born animal died one hour after birth. It had abnormal backbones and it was in critical condition when it was born," he said.
