Balikpapan, East Kalimantan (ANTARA News)- A budget of Rp1.6 trillion for a 800-meter bridge to be built in Pulau Balang, East Kalimantan, has been approved.

The fund will be available from the 2014 state budget, head of the Balikpapan Development Planning Board Suryanto said here on Friday.

"The project is financed with the state budget, therefore, it is a central government`s project and the tender will be held in Jakarta," Suryanto said.

The bridge is part of the Trans Kalimantan highway not far from the Sungai Wain protected forest.

Three state construction companies are involved in the project including PT Hutama Karya, PT Adhi Karya, and PT Bangun Cipta.

The project is to be completed in 290 days.
