Samarinda, E Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - Floods has submerged 1,880 houses in 12 villages in Muara Kaman Sub-district, Kutai Kartanegara District, East Kalimantan Province, over the last one month.

"Based on our field monitoring, up to Monday evening at around 6 pm local time, the water level remains at a height of between 20 cm to two meters," Head of the Kutai Kartanegara Disaster Mitigation Agency Darmansyah said here on Tuesday.

The floods have affected 11,824 people and forced 109 residents to take refuge to higher grounds.

The local authorities have set up two refugee camps, respectively in Tabailai village and Benua Lawas village, and distributed relief for flood victims.
