The annual festival will be held at the Taman Fahillah, the Kota Tua (Old City) tourism area in West Jakarta from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on Saturday, head of Jakarta provincial tourism and culture affairs office, Arie Budhiman said here on Thursday.
"Our aim to hold this event is to increase the number of tourist arrivals," Arie said, adding that the JFMD is also expected to attract tourists to visit other museums in the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta.
According to him, the JFMD 2013 is participated in by 45 museums or higher compared with 43 museums last year. Jakarta has a total of 53 museums.
All participating museums will hold exhibitions and various activities, for instance the Kota Tua museum will perform "Week and Kota Tua", he said.
In addition, Museum Wayang (Puppet) will show young puppeteers festival and Wayang exhibition.
It is expected that some 10,000 visitors will come to the JFMD 2013, Arie said. (*)
