Cairo, Egypt (ANTARA News) - Algeria commemorated the Asian-African Conference 1955 in Bandung as awakening point of colonized countries.

"The conference always reminds Algerians about the struggle of colonized countries," Demanglatrus, first Algerian Ambassador to Indonesia told participants of a seminar here on Monday on the sidelines of the commemoration of te Indonesia-Algeria diplomatic relationship.

Demanglatrus, an eyewitness of the conference, said Indonesia had inspired Algeria in attending the Asian-African Conference when Algeria was still under a colonialism authority.

Algeria claimed its independence from France on July 5, 1962.

Middle-East Director of Indonesian Foreign Ministry Febrian A Ruddyard said the bilateral relationship of Indonesia-Algeria should involve each of its people.

"It will lead into soft diplomacy between Indonesia and Algeria," he said.

Meanwhile, ex-General Chief of Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Hasyim Muzadi spoke about the role of mass organizations.

"Mass organizations could stimulate good bilateral relations by warm interactions and exchanges of views," he said.

He said the organization is a place to build understanding and discussion among its members.

"Mass organizations are places for creativity and could give something good for the country," Hasyim said.

Indonesia`s Ambassador for Algeria said the good bilateral relationship would make some benefits such as its function for stability, justice and prosperous for global society.
