The regional enterprise firm will implement the master plan and also guides the monorail construction in Bandung as the Capital City of W Java.
Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - The Bandung Regional Government-owned Enterprise (BUMD) will cooperate with the China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation (CMC) in the development of the transportation sector in the Bandung City, West Java Province.

"The cooperation one one of the points in the Letter of Intent (LoI) agreement with CMC, namely to develop monorail transportation in Bandung City," said W Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan in a press statement received here Sunday.

According to him, the regional enterprise firm will implement the master plan and also guides the monorail construction in Bandung as the Capital City of W Java.

The LoI also incorporated the assessment plan as the foundation for the Bandung Raya Master Plan cooperation and as the basic for regional development and integrated Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system.

"We will follow up the LoI in accordance with the law in force in Indonesia. The implementation of this agreement will be conducted through proper approaches and at the right time," Heryawan said.

Heryawan said the Regional Government will also engage the West Java Province Metropolitan Development Management (WJPMDM) in the transportation development in Bandung.

"The WJPMDM will give clear command on purposes, targets, and details of the Bandung Metropolitan Master Plan which will be arranged. The agency will also organize related parties on the project," Heryawan said.

The signing agreement was conducted by the W Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan along with the President and Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Wang Xusheng in Beijing, China.

Other senior officials from W Java Regional Government who attended the signing agreement are Assistant IV of Administration Sub-Official Iwa Karniwa, Chief of Bina Marga HM Guntoro and Chief of Tourism Sub-Official Nunung Sobari.

Previously, the Bandung Government has built Trans Metro Bandung (TMB) to provide people with integrated transportation that en route from Cibeureum Sub-district to Cibiru Sub-district passing Soekarno-Hatta access road.

The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) has allocated budget for the construction of Corridor I of TMB at RP13 billion.

Besides, the DPRD also funded the construction of TMB in Corridor II at RP1.3 billion.(*)
