Sukabumi, West Java (ANTARA News) - Sukabumi Police Chief Adj. Sr Comr Hari Santoso ordered his officers to shoot brutal motorists in the roads endangering the safety of other people.

The road scoundrels would be dealt with firmly if they begin to create disorder threatening the safety of other people, Hari told reporters here on Monday.

"Firm measure is needed against the gangs of young ruffians, who tend to create disorder and commit crime in the streets," he said.

The motorists riding in convoy carrying knives often ended in gang fights, he said.

Gang fights and violence in city streets involving motorists have been reported in large cities in the country .

Some of them have committed robberies and rape in broad day light.

"Shoot on the spot is authorized if the hoodlums resist and turn against the police on duty," Hari said.(*)
