"From them we have confiscated around 400 ecstasy pills and almost a kilogram of methamphetamine," chief of BNN`s law enforcement team Senior Commissioner Selamet Pribadi said to ANTARA News here on Friday.
The chief dealer that has been arrested is KS by his initials who is a resident of Jalan Sekuntum in Tenayan Raya sub-district, Pekanbaru.
"Before arresting KS BNN officers initially caught two air force members known by their initials as BW an RY and also a civilian known as JC," he said.
The three, believed to be KS` men, were arrested in different locations and time but still in Pekanbaru.
At around 11am on Tuesday BNN law enforcement team members arrested BW while driving a car to Jalan Paus in Pekanbaru and from him confiscated 300 ecstasy pills kept in his car.
At 1pm later the officers arrested JC, a civilian on Jalan Sekuntum, and then RY who is also an air force member living in Jondul Baru housing complex in Pekanbaru.
Based on the arrests the BNN team conducted further investigation and finally arrested KS at around 9.30pm on Thursday who is a chief dealer in the province.
"KS, who is a civilian, was arrested in a star-rated hotel on Jalan Soekarno-Hatta with a woman," he said.
From him the BNN officers confiscated around a kilogram of methamphetamine.
The illegal stuff was kept in several places in the room.
Early on Thursday morning BNN officers again arrested two couriers believed to be BW`s men but they also led to KS.
"They are AM and S who are civilians. The two were arrested while having a meth and ecstasy party in a karaoke lounge in XP-Club on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Pekanbaru. From them officers confiscated 100 ecstasy pills," he said.
Based on initial results of investigation AM is found to be BW`s man while S is AM`s personnel.
The six are linked as a drug ring in Riau especially Pekanbaru but "the chief dealer is KS," he said.
The men are flown to Jakarta for further investigation of their case.
"KS is the drug supplying boss in Riau. He has been cooperating with the air force members to smooth distribution of the drugs to night clubs in Pekanbaru and its surrounding areas," he said.(*)
