We are unaware of Indonesian citizens who do not have proper immigration documents..."Nunukan, East Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - According to the Indonesian Consulate General in Sabah, there are a total of 450 thousand Indonesians living in Sabah, Malaysia, as of July 2012.
On Monday, in Kota Kinabalu, Soepeno Sahid, head of the Indonesian Consulate General in Sabah, said Sabah is home to Indonesian workers, students, and state officials.
However, he mentioned that only 141,131 Indonesians in Sabah have legal documents and work visas.
Soepeno added that 179 thousand Indonesians residing in Sabah have voting rights.
He has yet to receive details from the Malaysian government of Indonesian citizens in Sabah who have no proper immigration documents.
"We are unaware of Indonesian citizens who do not have proper immigration documents because we have not received any information from the local government," said Soepeno.
