Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA News) - A police officer`s house in Banjar Wijaya, a housing complex in Tangerang, Banten province, was shot at by an unidentified person on Tuesday morning, according to a report.

The house, located along Taman Banjar street, Banjar Wijaya, is owned by Adj. Comm. Andreas Tulam, a member of the Drug Unit at DKI Jakarta Police, ANTARA`s correspondent in Tangerang reported this incident.

The housing complex was quiet when the shooting took place.

The police believes the house was shot at a close range. A glass door of the house shattered into pieces in the midst of the shooting.

There has been no official confirmation of casualties. Some police officers have been deployed to increase security around the house.

Meanwhile, the National Police Headquarters has sent its Forensic Team to the house for further investigation.

A number of police officers from the Drug Unit, Jakarta Police, have been seen conducting investigation.

The Chief of Tangerang Police Sr. Comm Riad said his team is looking into the projectiles used by the unidentified person.

"I will issue a statement later. Now, we are still looking into the projectiles," noted Riad.(*)
