"People may freely report corruption cases here. Report them to all, to mass media so that they will all be uncovered," KPK Deputy Chairman Adnan Pandu Prajahe said
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s anti-graft agency set up a radio streaming service to build an anti-corruption system at a community level.

"The number of law enforcement personnel is smaller than the number of those who corrupt. So, if the anti-corruption system is not improved their number could further increase," the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)`s Deputy Chairman Bambang Widjojanto said on the sidelines of the launching of "KanalKPK" radio streaming service here on Sunday.

KPK, he said, views that the only way to build a strong anti-corruption system is through the people. That way, he added, the system that would develop later could optimally prevent corruption.

"Now is an communication era and so KPK must be able to communicate with all people of Indonesia. Media indeed conduct broadcasting but they have not covered it wholly and so KPK would cover the void," he said.

He said although the "KanalKPK" in www.kpk.go.id now would only be in the air for a few hours next year it would be further extended.

It is also not impossible that KPK would later also open a television streaming, he added.

KPK is now cooperating with state-owned radio station RRI to relay its "KanalKPK" radio streaming service for an hour a day but later it will also cooperate with other radio stations in the regions so that the service would cover all people across Indonesia, Bambang said.

Another KPK deputy Adnan Pandu Praja earlier said that KanalKPK would serve as a forum for people to report corruption cases they find around them.

This service will be a faster means of reporting corruption cases, he said.

"People may freely report corruption cases here. Report them to all, to mass media so that they will all be uncovered," he said.(*)
