Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Karate athletes grabbed six gold medals in the international Karate championship in Finland or exceeding the target of three golds set by the Indonesian Karate Federation (Forki).

In the Karate international championship in Finland that took place from August 31 to September 1, 2013, Forki only targeted three gold medals, according to Hendardji Soepandji, Forki general chairman here on Sunday.

"Previously we though there would be tight competition in Finland because Europe would field their top karate athletes. But thank God, we can meet the target, even exceeding it," he said.

Three gold medals were grabbed by three female athletes namely

Siti Maryam (woman Indiv), Srunita Sari Sukatendel (Women Kumite-50kg), and Indah Mogisa Angkat (women Kumite-68kg).

Other three gold medals were obtained by three male athletes namely Imam Tauhid Ragananda (men Kumite -60kg), Hirga Yoga Ludiana (men Kumite-67kg), and Hendro Salim (men kumite-84kg).

Forki that sent 15 men and 13 female athletes also gained five silver medals by Yulianti Syafrudin (women indiv), Yuswinda Eka Puspitasari (women kumite-68kg), Christo Momdolu (men kumite-75kg), Dedi Irwansyah Siregar (men free kumite), Hendro Salim, Donny Dharmawan and Imam Tauhid Ragananda (men group kumite).

Apart from that Indonesian athletes also obtained eight bronze medals by Donny Dharmawan (men indiv kumite-60 kg), Alfaris Tarizq Alwyni (men free kumite), Angga Laksamana (men kumite-75kg), Nova Sinaga (women indiv kumite-55kg), Cok Istri Agung Sanistyarani (women indiv kumite-61kg), Ayu Rahmawati (women indiv Kata), Christo Mondolu, Dedi Irwansyah Siregar and Caesar George Isac (men group kumite), Cok Istri Agung Sanistyarani, Indanh Mogiat Angkat and Nurhadianti Fitrianingsih (women group kumite).
