I believe that pigs can fly!"
Beijing (ANTARA News/CNA) - Taiwan actress Michelle Chen has come under fire recently, after it was revealed that she will play the iconic character Little Dragon Girl in an upcoming Chinese television adaptation of Hong Kong writer Louis Cha`s martial arts novel `The Return of the Condor Heroes`.

Following the release of early audition photos showing Chen as the Little Dragon Girl, numerous Chinese netizens have criticised the actress for being too `meaty` for the role, reported Chinese media.

They claimed that she does not do justice to the character, who is supposed to be a graceful heroine of unmatched beauty.

However, Chen remained unaffected by the criticism.

"Perhaps it doesn`t fit everyone's idea of how the Little Dragon Girl should look like, but I will work hard to show everyone a new Little Dragon Girl," said Chen in a micro blog post on Thursday.

"Don`t forget to imagine, don`t forget to dream, don't forget there are infinite possibilities. I believe that pigs can fly!" added Chen in another post on Friday.

Chen`s manager said the actress, who shot to fame after starring in the 2011 Taiwan film "You Are the Apple of My Eye", only looked plump because her costume in the audition photos was tailored for someone taller and did not fit her at all.

Chen is the latest in a long line of actresses who have played the Little Dragon Girl.

Stars like Hong Kong actresses Idy Chan and Carmen Lee, along with China`s Liu Yifei and Singapore's Fann Wong, have all played the Little Dragon Girl in the many television adaptations of Cha`s novel which have been produced since the 80s.
