Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received a courtesy call from China`s President Xi Jinping at the Merdeka Presidential Palace on Wednesday afternoon.

During the meeting President Yudhoyono was flanked by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, while President Xi Jinping was accompanied by First Lady Peng Liyuan.

President Xi Jinping and his delegation arrived at 3:30 p.m. and were welcomed by President Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono at the palace.

Several cabinet ministers were seen accompanying President Yudhoyono for the meeting including Coordinating Minister for Political, Security and Legal Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa, Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Finance Minister Chatib Basri, Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan and State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan.

After a ceremony was held in the honor of the guests, President Yudhoyono and President Xi Jinping held a bilateral meeting, following which the two leaders witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements in various fields.

In addition to his meeting with President Yudhoyono, the Chinese president is also scheduled to meet with the chairman of the People`s Consultative Assembly, Sidharto Danusubroto, House Speaker Marzuki Alie, and inaugurate a photo exhibition based on the theme of Indonesia-China relations, which has been jointly organized by state-owned news agency LKBN Antara and China`s Xinhua.

President Xi and President Yudhoyono are also scheduled to attend a business luncheon with business figures from the two countries. (*)
