Bogota (ANTARA News/AFP) - Assailants set off explosives near a police helicopter as it landed in northern Colombia Monday, injuring two people, police said.

A police source in Antioquia department said the blast took place at 1940 GMT, as the helicopter was taking part in a troop rotating operation.

The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) on December 15 declared a unilateral ceasefire.

The government of President Juan Manuel Santos has been in peace talks with the FARC, the countrys largest leftist rebel group, since November 2012.

They have reached consensus on two issues -- rural development and the political reintegration of demobilized rebels -- but tough issues remain, including disarming the guerrillas.

The talks are aimed at ending a nearly 50-year-old insurgency, Latin Americas longest. Three previous attempts at a negotiated settlement of the conflict failed.
