-- More than 700 artists expected to submit their works for a chance to gain international exposure and share in $28,000 prize pool
Jakarta, Jan 16, 2014 - (ANTARA) - Cliftons, the leading provider of training and event venues, offers artists the chance to gain international exposure in the Cliftons 2014 Art Prize Competition.
Now in its 13th year, the Cliftons Art Prize is inviting entries from established and emerging artists across Asia Pacific. Entries can be submitted online via the Cliftons Art Prize website where an international panel of independent judges will review the artist submissions. Short listed artists are invited to exhibit their submissions at Cliftons CBD locations across Asia Pacific, and form part of the online exhibition last year visited by over 250,000 international art lovers. One winner at each of Cliftons ten venues will be awarded AUD$2,000 and the overall Cliftons Art Prize winner awarded AUD$10,000 as well as receiving international exposure via Cliftons' broad network of corporate event venues.
The 2013 Cliftons Art Prize overall winner, Camellia Morris, attests to the value in participating in the competition.
"The Cliftons Art Prize was an invaluable experience for me. It provided the validation I needed as an emerging artist and offered me exposure on the international art scene. Winning the accolade was an achievement I could only have dreamed of. The generous prize money also enables me to work towards my first solo exhibition planned for early 2014," said Ms Morris.
"I would encourage potential entrants in the Art Prize to draw inspiration from whatever they are passionate about. Create art that moves you as the artist. It may be a piece that captures a moment, invokes a memory, or simply tells a story."
"The overall competition was very well run, and the representatives at Cliftons were both professional and accommodating. The local and international art communities are truly privileged to have Cliftons as a patron of the arts through this generous Art Prize," she said.
State and regional finalists and winners across Cliftons Asia Pacific locations will be selected from artworks submitted online at www.cliftonsartprize.com. An international panel of prominent judges will select the winners of the competition. Submissions close 4th April 2014, 5pm local time with winners announced at exclusive awards evenings across Asia Pacific.
Sponsors of the 2014 Cliftons Art Prize include online bank, RaboDirect.
