The meeting between the two ministers was held in an effort to follow up on directives of the two heads of governments in the Indonesia-Singapores Retreat Leaders meeting held on April 22, 2013 in Singapore, according to a press statement issued by the Indonesian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
Singapore is the second largest foreign investor in Indonesia after Japan, with the realized investment of US$4.67 billion in 2013.
In addition, the two foreign ministers also talked about regional and global issues such as the ASEAN Economic Community 2015, regional and global security situation, and cooperation in various international forums.
The Foreign Minister bilateral meeting is also part of the preparation for the upcoming Leaders Retreat between President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to be held in Indonesia this year.
