Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA News) - Two Indonesian citizens have been shot to death after attacking police officers who tried to hold their female friends in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia.

One of the police officers died after he was hit by a machete in the incident.

The incident happened when two Malaysian police officers on patrol approached Indonesian citizens comprising two men and three women, at Taman Sentosa, Klang, on Tuesday morning.

Selangor police chief Mohd Shukri Dahlan stated that according to local media reports on Wednesday, the two suspects who were killed, had attacked the two police officers who were trying to hold their women friends for investigation.

The police who survived in the incident, Corporal Aidil Mustafa (29), explained that while he was on patrol with Corporal Raja Aizam Raja Modid (53) he met the five Indonesians.

When they approached them, two of them immediately attacked them, snatched Aizams pistol and hit Aizams head with a machete.

Aidil Mustafa was saved as the pistol the attacker had directed toward him, failed to function.

The two died after Aidil Mustafa shot them, following a fight with them.

State Police chief Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, meanwhile appealed to people, especially foreigners, to be cooperative and explained that the attack was too much.

"This should not be allowed to happen. I have a strong warning for all people, especially foreigners, not to attack police on duty," he asserted.

"The act (of attacking police on duty) is too much," he pointed out, after visiting Aidil Mustafa at Tuanku Ampuan Rahiman Hospital.

The three women who fled after the incident have been arrested along with a man, not far from where the incident happened.

Deputy minister of home affairs Dr Wan Juanidi warned that he will not compromise with foreigners who attack officers on duty.

"We must be more careful after this incident, while dealing with foreigners, because they can act brutally and even cause death," he pointed out.
