Vietnam has been well cooperating with other countries in the search and rescue operation.
Hanoi (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung orders its entire search and rescue team to work around the clock to search for the missing Malaysian airplane.

The statement was made by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai at a conference held Sunday at the headquarters of the Vietnamese defense ministry in Vietnams capital Hanoi to review search and rescue work and define direction for further missions.

Hai also said the government already approved the transport ministry to establish a frontier command post at Phu Quoc island district to direct the search and rescue work.

Vietnam has been well cooperating with other countries in the search and rescue operation. Vietnam has sent aircraft and marine police vessels among other vehicles to join the operation, said Hai, adding that the work in searching for the Malaysian airplane would increase Vietnams capacity in emergency response.

The deputy prime minister also required Vietnams transport ministry and defense ministry to work with Kien Giang province and Phu Quoc district to prepare for infrastructure for further steps.

Under the international aviation convention, if the airplane crashes in any countrys territories, that country has to establish a committee to investigate the incident.

Vietnam is always ready to practice its highest responsibilities under the international aviation convention, Hai said.

Malaysia Airlines confirms that flight MH370 has lost contact with Subang Air Traffic Control at 2.40am, today (8 March 2014). Flight MH370, operated on the B777-200 aircraft, departed Kuala Lumpur at 12.41am on 8 March 2014. MH370 was expected to land in Beijing at 6.30am the same day. The flight was carrying a total number of 227 passengers (including 2 infants), 12 crew members.

Malaysia Airlines is currently working with the authorities who have activated their Search and Rescue team to locate the aircraft.
