The voter turnout fell below target, namely 55,000 people or 50 percent of 112,123 registered voters, the embassy reported here Sunday.
Despite the failure to reach the targeted number of participating voters, the 2014 parliamentary elections voter turnout was better than that of the previous election, Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Andri Hadi said.
"The 2009 legislative election was just participated in by 15,000 voters," he said adding that the embassy staff members conducted political participation campaigns through meetings and social media.
The embassys Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) noted that 10,000 of 23,073 voters sent their ballot papers by mail while 13,073 went to polling booths to cast their votes.
Indonesian voters abroad cast their vote between March 30 and April 6 or ahead of the scheduled national legislative election on April 9.
