Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta composite index (JCI) rose slightly 0.06 percent on foreign fund continuing to flow into the domestic market, analysts said.

The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) closed 0.06 percent or 3.18 points higher at 4,973.06 points on Friday.

Meanwhile, the index of 45 most liquid stocks rose 0.03 percent to 847.69 points.

Asjaya Indosurya Securities analyst William Surya wijaya said foreign fund had continued to flow into the domestic market shoring up the JCI resulting in a foreign net buy of Rp328.4 billion.

William said positive expectation of the countrys economy also contributed to the JCI increase.

"It is predicted that JCI would hover around 4,946-5,010 points on Monday," he said.

HD Capitals analyst Yuganur Wijanarko said the JCI maintained the momentum of gaining despite profit taking .

There were 162,731 transactions in Fridays trade with 2.87 billion shares valued at Rp4.14 trillion changing hands.

Gainers outnumbered decliners by 161 to 120 with 111 shares flat.

Regional markets such as Hang Seng gained 0.05 percent in index to 22,965.86, with Nikkei index up 0.87 percent to 14,462.17 points and that of Straits Times up 0.38 percent to 3,278.02 points.(*)
