Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA News) - The meeting between outgoing President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and president-elect Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Wednesday night in Bali Province was a new chapter in the history of the national political that encouraged good leadership transition and mutual respect.

"The meeting has been expected by president-elect Joko Widodo (Jokowi) after election dispute hearing at the Constitutional Court and the important thing, SBY builds a new tradition that every outgoing president should communicate general things in the government," Presidential special staff for political communication Daniel Sparingga said here on Wednesday.

He said President Yudhoyono initiated the meeting and welcomed by Joko Widodo.

"Based on previous experience of President SBY when he was elected in 2004, he sent a staff to Istana Negara, but the visit was not welcomed. The meeting between incumbent President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and President-elect Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is expected to assist the new government," he affirmed.

Daniel remarked that the transition process basically involved a number of components but initially began between the leaders.

"President Yudhoyono have a long record because he writes a daily journal about the government. The president can convey some important achievements as well as unfinished homework generally," he emphasized.

Some unfinished homework, according to Daniel, about poverty eradication and economic growth,should be carried out at the same time so that the gap did not widen.

The Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met Jokowi in Bali, on Wednesday (August 27), to hear his presidential plans.

The meeting between outgoing President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Wednesday night in Bali Province was expected to contribute to the success of government transition, Lieutenant General (ret) Agus Widjojo noted.

"Everyone expects that President Yudhoyono and Jokowis meeting will run smoothly for the sake of good governmental transition," said Agus, Indonesian militarys former chief of territorial affairs and also a political observer, during a discussion entitled Lessons Learned from the 2014 Election in the Context of Democratic Transition in Indonesia, held on Wednesday.

Agus also praised the implementation of legislative and presidential elections this year, saying that they had been held peacefully.
