Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - The Purwakarta under-12 soccer team from Indonesia's West Java Province is ready to compete in the upcoming November 5-7 World Soccer Champion in Brazil, an official said.

The under-12 soccer squad named "Asad 313" was seen off by the deputy governor of West Java, Deddy Mizwar, here on Monday.

"We hope the childrens soccer team performs well in Brazil and makes not just Indonesia, but the world, proud," Mizwar remarked.

According to the deputy governor, the U-12 soccer team is a matter of pride for Indonesia, especially for West Java, which is gearing up for the National Sports Week (PON) 2016.

"I think this greatly inspires all sportsmen in Indonesia, especially in West Java, in view of the forthcoming National Sports Week (PON) 2016," Deddy stated, adding that the World Soccer Champion in Brazil will have 32 participating countries.

On the occasion, the Mizwar also reminded the young squad to play well and stay true to their sportsman spirit.
