Five new names proposed to fill the post are Commissioner General Badrodin Haiti, Commissioner General Dwi Priyatno, Commissioner General Putut Bayuseno, Commissioner General Anang Iskandar, and Commissioner General Budi Waseso
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The commissioners from the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) visited the National Police headquarters here on Friday to discuss the names of new candidates for the post of police chief.

"We are here to meet the deputy police chief and other high-ranking officials. This meeting aims to propose new names for the police chiefs post in case President Joko Widodo cancels his plan to inaugurate the sole candidate for the police chiefs post, Commissioner General Budi Gunawan," noted Kompolnas Commissioner, Edi Hasibuan.

Commissioner General Budi Gunawan, who is the current candidate for the post of police chief, has been named a suspect in a corruption case by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on January 13. Due to this case, President Jokowi postponed Budi Gunawans inauguration as the new police chief.

According to Edi, his agency has proposed five new names for the post of police chief to President Jokowi. However, it is the presidents prerogative right to decide the name of the police chief.

Among the five new names proposed to fill in the police chiefs post are Deputy Police Chief Commissioner General Badrodin Haiti, Chief of the General Supervision Inspectorate Commissioner General Dwi Priyatno, National Polices Security Chief Commissioner General Putut Bayuseno, Chief of Anti-Narcotics Agency Commissioner General Anang Iskandar, and Polices Chief of Detective Division Commissioner General Budi Waseso.(*)
