"We are again summoning 400 companies regarding their obligation to register with the BPJS-Ketenagakerjaan based on Law No. 24/2011," Jenny Pasaribu, the head of the Civil and State Administrative Section of the Prosecutors office, noted here on Tuesday.
She pointed out that all should follow the procedures in accordance with Law No. 24/2011 and Law No. 40/2004 on the obligation of companies to register with the BPJS-Ketenagakerjaan.
Companies are obligated to register their employees seven days at the latest after receiving an invitation. If they fail to abide by the regulation, they will face a criminal sanction, with a likelihood of facing an eight-year prison sentence or a fine of Rp1 billion.
"There will be criminal and administrative sanctions if companies committed violations. This has been regulated by the government. We only carry out the implementation of the regulation, including cancelling their licenses," she emphasized.
Companies are summoned thrice after which firm action is taken such as prosecution at court, she explained.(*)
