Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives (DPR) Taufik Kurniawan expressed hope that the meeting between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the executives and legislatives could improve relations.

"We hope that the meeting can improve political communication between the House leaders, factions in the Parliament, and the government," Kurniawan stated here on Monday.

According to Kurniawan, the meeting will discuss the current political situation and the appointment of the new police chief candidate, Commissioner General Badrodin Haiti.

In addition, he pointed out that the House Leaders will hear the explanation of President Jokowi with regard to the 2015 revised state budget.

"The DPR supports budget allocations associated with strategic programs," he affirmed.

"The revised state budget in 2015, fuel subsidy, exchange rate, political issues, and the appointment of the new police chief candidate will be discussed by the House Leaders and President Jokowi," he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the DPR Fadli Zon noted that the main agenda of the meeting between the parliament members and President Jokowi is discussing the appointment of the new police chief candidate.

"We want to hear the presidents explanation about the appointment of the new police chief candidate," he remarked.

President Jokowi is scheduled to hold a consultation meeting with the DPR leaders at the Parliament Building, here, Monday.
